Hofstad Verde is a beautiful and modern “Belle Epoque” apartment at the Belgian coast, in the old historical village of De Haan at only 50 meters from the beach and the dunes. It is located in a historically protected area called “the Concession”. Albert Einstein once lived there because of its tranquility.
The newly renovated apartment is located at the ground floor of the villa and has a large south-facing terrace surrounded with evergreen plants that guarantee your privacy. All comfort is present, lots of daylight, modern furnished, 2 large bedrooms, a bathroom with walk-in shower, fully equipped kitchen, large television flat screen in the sitting area and free wifi.

Some of our guests suffer from an allergy. As a result, we do not recommend dogs and cats. Goldfish, parakeets, dwarf rabbits and guinea pigs are no problem…
No, there is no smoking indoors, but at the (wind) sheltered terrace it is pleasant to smoke a cigarette or cohiba.
The dike is 50 meters away from the apartment. At a walking speed of 5.5 km it will take you exactly, 32.7 seconds until you feel the fine sandy beach at your feet …
You can safely place your car in front of the door for loading and unloading. Usually there are parking lots available on the “Koninklijke Baan” or in the immediate vicinity.
Hofstad Verde is an apartment on the ground floor, and was deliberately designed to avoid unnecessary thresholds (except the step of the front door and terrace door of 10 cm). Interior doors have normal standard width.
Hofstad Verde has a fully equipped kitchen. In addition, there are innumerable possibilities; from the nearby caterer or dine at one of the many restaurants at the waterfront.
For golf you can go to the Royal Golf Club Ostend, at a distance of 1.4 km.

At De Haan, there are two tennis clubs: “La Potinière” and “TC De Polderblomme” with respectively 3 and 6 tennis courts. The nearest is “La Potinière” at a 5 minutes walk.
Officially, the swimming season at the belgian seaside starts the 1st of July. Beach rescuers are present as from then until the end of the holiday season (31st of August).
However, the city of De Haan begins earlier with beach monitoring. Very often beach rescuers are on site as of early June until the end of September! For a concrete overview, see the regulations

Feel free to visit the beach club “De Windhaan”. You can rent surfboards, sailing boats and kayaks. You can also take catamaran and kite surfing lessons.

You can rent a bike on the dike or play mini golf in the center of the concession. In the summer months there is also a trendy beach bar nearby. Or rent a sun lounger with parasol on the beach…

15 min by car and you are in the center of Bruges for a cultural trip. Shopping in Ostend will only take you a 10 minute drive by car of with the coastal tram, which passes by every 10 minutes.
The nearest pharmacy is at “Leopoldsplein”, at 3 minutes walking distance.
The nearest hospitals are both 10 to 15 minutes away, (AZ Zeno in Blankenberge or AZ Damiaan in Ostend).

Yes that’s right! The sea prevention center in De Haan is a renowned rehabilitation center for children, young people and adults with chronic respiratory diseases. The center is located at 600 m or 7 min walking from Hofstad Verde. www.zeepreventorium.be
